Polly Pocket

I bought Avery a Polly Pocket doll set today; it was supposed to be a birthday gift. We were at Target buying plates and napkins for her party and I tried to sneak it in under our other items so she wouldn't see. The cashier, however, had different plans. After she scanned it she handed it to Avery. I tried to tell Avery that it wasn't for her, but that it was for a special girl who had a birthday coming up soon. She looked up at me and said "Mommy, it's me! I have a birthday coming up!" So, she and Josh are playing with the new dolls as I write this (I guess I'll find another birthday toy). There are five of these dolls. Those of you who know Avery know that she names every doll that comes into our house. There is a great deal of effort that goes into finding the perfect name for each doll. This time daddy got involved in the naming process. He convinced her to name her new Polly Pockets the following names: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo. Seriously. They are talking about Delta and Echo going bowling right now. Josh can't stop smiling while they're playing... he's pretty pleased with himself.

I remember my sister had polly pocket when she was little. It's super cute how Josh got Avery to give them NATO phonetic alphabet names.

In response to your comment on our blog: We miss the trips too! Funny how GSN was our favorite channel. Every now and then I flip past it, and it brings back memories.

I will be in MN Dec-Feb on externship, and will try to make it out to your place for a visit. Ben will be in town during the holidays too, so we will have to get together!

Take Care!
