I have a few more flood related things too look at if you're interested. There are many more photos at www.inforum.com and a great video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdxtwROYTgE . Like Josh said, it has been an amazing experience to be a part of, but one you never hope to actually see and the video does a great job of portraying what it's actually been like around here for the past week.
Also, Avery painted this picture on Thursday evening. I asked her what her picture was of and she said "A dirty flood." I know that in spite of our efforts to shelter her from the news, she knows what is going on. We are fortunate to be in an area that is pretty much unaffected by the flood but she picks up on daycare not being open, daddy not having to go to work, and waking her up in the middle of the night to drop her off at grandma's so mom and dad can sandbag. I can only imagine that families that live closer to the river or have been evacuated have an even more difficult time explaining things to their kids. We are all counting the days until things start to get back to some sense of normal...
