Labor day plans

We didn't forget about the blog, but we've both been very busy (I know, excuses, excuses...). We're just starting to pack for our weekend camping trip. It's 10 PM here and we both have to be up at 5:30 for work tomorrow; nothing like last minute prep!

I'm a bit nervous about how the trip will go, but at the very least we'll make some memories... right? We had a trial run of tent-sleeping in our backyard on Monday night. Suffice it to say that 55 degree nights spent in a tent with an infant, a squirmy three year old girl, airplane noise, passing trains, and the cats next door fighting are less than relaxing. Hopefully the park will be a bit more tranquil than our city backyard! Avery, however, loved the experience and can't wait until tomorrow when we "get to go camping at the park and I can take my camping cup and we won't be at our house anymore!" She is living proof that you don't have to take your preschooler to Disney World for them to be excited. Sleeping one hundred miles from home in a tent is good enough for her. She is also very excited to walk across the river (headwaters of the Mississippi) but can't quite wrap her brain around the fact that we won't need a bridge to cross the river. :) For those of you who have not seen the headwaters, it's basically a small stream at the beginning where you can walk across a rock path and take the obligatory picture by the "Headwaters of the Mississippi" sign.

The plan is to camp for three nights and head back home on Monday morning. The good thing about being so close to home is that if it's terrible we can come home on Saturday and "camp" in the basement instead. Enough of my camping rambling though- I'll post on Tuesday with pics from the trip.

Tate's feeding has been great this week. He's eaten an entire jar of baby food each time we feed him and is now only pushing 25-30% of it out of his mouth. This is a huge improvement as the first few weeks most everything was drooled out; we could tell by looking at his bib that all of the food was there and none was in his belly. He's getting more used to the daycare too and will finally nap while he's there. I'm thankful for that as it means that I get to see him more in the evenings because he stays awake a bit longer. No therapy this week so no news there.

Off to pack now. Have a great Labor day weekend!
